Ida played an opening set, and then joined Low (as did Eric Pollard) for the last two-thirds of Low's set. Similar to previous Low Christmas concerts, tracks from the 'Christmas' EP featured heavily, plus both tracks from Low's 2008 Christmas 7". The band were in fine spirits, and the presence of Ida & Eric Pollard really added to the sound. For my first gig recording, and with a fairly cheap microphone, I was quite pleased how this came out. Not excellent, but listenable. The original recording was very quiet with loud applause, so thanks to Jacob H for editing and normalising. Alan's vocals in particular are quite clear, and the audience is very quiet during the songs. However... as you will hear, one guy in the audience gets more vocal between songs as the set goes on (and alcohol is consumed). And unfortunately he was standing close to the microphone. His random musings and quoting of various song lyrics seem to both annoy/confuse the audience and band. Apart from that, this is a nice recording of a great night and a rare on-stage pairing of Low and Ida. enjoy!
